At the base of the neck, you have a vertebra that protrudes more than the other, especially if you nod forward, the so-called C7 vertebra. The length from this vertebra down to the upper line of your iliac crest determines the size of your backpack. The easiest way to find the iliac crest is to hold your thumbs against the top of the hip bone. Let a friend or family member measure this and you will get the right measurements for your backpack.
