Telemark 1 LW
Nordisk Telemark 1LW is light, easy to pitch and roomy enough for most people under most circumstances. I am 190cm tall and while I can’t say the Telemark is a palace, it is certainly big enough for me. But here is the caviat: I don’t mind my feet or hair touching the inner tent. This doesn’t bother me much. Where I do find this to be bothersom is when there is a lot of moisture in the air and a lot of condensation in my tent. Than I would prefer a larger tent where I am not mushing the inner. With that said, at 850grams the Telemark 1LW withstands pretty much anything the mountains can throw at it, and I have myself experienced some pretty heavy winds in the Telemark. When it’s slightly breezy, the Nordisk telemark is a great tent, as the wind finds it’s way under the tent through its catenary cuts on the front and back end, and with the top vent, creates just enough ventilation where condensation is kept to a minimum. On the flip side, on completely still nights, wet ground and heavy breathing, creates a kind of trapped blanket of condensation. So my recommendation is to keep the tent in more open spaces where breeze can find it. Of course I would recommend this for any tent, as all tents will be condensation hell if the conditions are ripe for that.
I most recently used the Nordisk telemark 1LW on a trip to the mountains with my dog Anna. Anna weighs about 15kilos, so a medium sized dog. I didn’t find this to be an issue at all size wise as the tent has quite a bit of floor space. I can’t really situp in the tent and stretch out like I can’t in some other tents, specifically I am thinking of the Sarek gear mid which is absolutely massive and the HIlleberg Enan which is kind of in the same category as the Nordisk telemark 1. But I can still situp, drink my morning coffee and so on. But do expect to touch the inner tent.
The Nordisk Telemark 1LW is marketed as weighing about 830g. On our scales with proper tent pegs (6st) and guy lines needed to setup. the tent comes in at 926grams. However, I guess if you use Ti pegs or no pegs at all, then the tent would come in at 830g. I still find the weight perfectly acceptable for a double walled tent of this size and comfort.
The Nordisk telemark 1lw at it’s longest point is 235cm long and 140cm at it’s wides point. So the footprint is tiny on this tent, and finding a good place to pitch is never an issue. The inner is 98cm at it’s widest and 220cm from head to toe. However it does slope hard on the feet, so expect your feet to touch the inner if you are over 180cm tall
The Nordisk Telemark 1LW is a very easy and fast tent to pitch. Stake out the four corners, stick in the tent pole and your done. For added comfort and ventilation you can pitch the vestibule door open as a large awning using a walking stick, stick or camera tripod. If in the mountains I would stake out the extra guy lines as well for added security.

- Warm and cozy even in higher winds
- Easy to pitch

Durable, spacious and lightweight tent
The Telemark 1 LW is a durable tent with surprisingly low weight and pack size due to the unique construction and the choice of state-of-the-art fabrics and components. The Telemark 1 is very spacious for a one man tent and the LW version comes with DAC aluminium poles and triple twister aluminium pegs for durable performance. Despite the low weight, there are no compromises on function or comfort thanks to the Telemark 1’s innovative ventilation plus easily adjustable guy ropes, magnetic ‘quick-snap’ door closure, inner pockets for storage and the possibility to convert the outer door into a canopy using the three corner poles and the included extra guy rope
